Oh, what a year it's been - from worldwide celebrations to usher in the new millennium to the feats of athletic glory and gold medals of an Olympics down under to the wrangling of a presidential election gone berserk - the year 2000 proved to be a jolting jump-start into the 21st Century.

Now, without further ado, we present that compendium of cool, that hot list of hip...the Third Annual Pop Ten List:

10. Eminem - The bad boy of rap made headlines with his volatile Marshall Mathers CD which became a multi-platinum chart topper - and a target for it's hate-filled lyrics.

9. PlayStation2 - If you wern't lucky enough to get your hands on Sony's hot, $300 gaming system when stores began selling them at Midnight on the day of their release, fear not - they can still be had on such online auction sites like Ebay, where black market prices have reached as high as $1,500.

8. PT Cruiser - A hit with young drivers and young-at-heart baby boomers, the Chrysler PT Cruiser's retro-look design made it the year's most sought-after automobile.

7. Britney Spears - Singing sensation Britney Spears scored the Albums Artist of the Year at the Billboard Music Awards with her 8X platinum "Oops...I Did It Again" as well as recognized as having the biggest one week sales of an album ever by a female artist.

6. Scooters - By whatever name - Razor, Micro, Kickboard or Xootr - scooters are hot. With sales of the sleek, streamlined speedsters projected to reach nearly 5 million units this year alone, many retailers found themselves scrambling to keep shelves full.

5. Napster - Backed into a corner by law suits brought on by the recording industry, the popular Internet program which enables users to swap MP3 music files was forced to sell-out and begin charging for it's services - forcing music fans to switch to simular programs such as Gnutella and Freenet.

4. WWF - CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'? A surreal hybrid of gladiatorial combat and Shakespearian theater, the World Wrestling Federation didn't just dominate television ratings, it throttled them by the neck and choke-slammed them with enough thunderous force to make even the most hardened detractors sit up and take notice.

3. Harry Potter - The magical adventures of the young wizard-in-training continued to hold children and adults spellbound as author J.K. Rowling unveiled "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", the fourth installment of her bestselling series.
