The "reel" story: Jane elects to stay in the jungle with Tarzan, happily ever after. The "real" Story: Jane leaves Africa for her home in America. Tarzan, with a new-found friend, a Frenchman, follows her.They are reunited several months later when Tarzan arrives at a Wisconsin farm where Jane is staying. eventually saving her from the clutches of a cold-hearted suitor.

More Tarzan trivia:

. In 1919 Edgar Rice Burroughs moved to an immense 540-acre ranch in the San Fernando Valley that he named "Tarzana" - the name of the California city that now occupies the area.

. To many, it is perhaps the second most famous line in movie history after "Frankly my Dear, I don't give a damn." that being "Me Tarzan, you Jane." sorry - in all of the adventures of the Jungle Lord ever put to celluloid, those words were never spoken.

. Johnny Weissmuller's famed jungle call was enhanced by a sound technican who added a hyena's howl played backwards, a plucked violin string, a camel's bleat, and an opera singer's high C.

. Sean Connery played the villain in the 1959 film 'Tarzan's Greatest Adventure' and was set to take over the part of Tarzan himself in 1961 - that is, until he was offered the the chance to portray James Bond in 'Dr. No'.
