Before his passing on March 7th, his final feature, Eyes Wide Shut, the erotic thriller Starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, was for the the most part the finished product Kubrick had meant it to be. After more than a year of filming and ceaseless editing, it is set to reach theatres in July.

For over a span of only thirteen movies Stanley Kubrick left behind an indelible legacy that encompasses more true wonderment than most directors with twice the credits under their belts. When asked about how audiences view his films, if their interpretations were true to his own, Kubrick noted:
"I would not think of quarreling with your interpretation nor offering any other, as I have found it always the best policy to allow a film to speak for itself."
Indeed, they will continue to speak long after their creator...and we'll be listening.
