To The NRA: I just say NO!!A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. - 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Well the battle lines have been drawn; the National Rifle Association (NRA), has announced that they are going to give it their collective all to make sure Al Gore is not elected President of these United States. Led by Charlton (I am an ass, and a fool) Heston, the forces of the weak, shallow minded, unethical, unprincipled, and selfish NRA membership is on the rise! Is it any wonder that in a country that values material goods and money more than human life (and especially children's lives), that this should be so? And is it any wonder that the NRA is support George W. Bush, a man who uses less of his brain than then all American's combined? I wonder if he has ever had an original thought (but that is the subject of another rant)? How morally and spiritually bankrupt we as a society have become! Heston, the NRA's President is quoted as saying, "This will be the most important meetings in our history," We are about to have the most important election in this organization's history. Our gun rights are truly in peril. When the sun comes up on Nov. 8, who wins the election will determine our freedoms into the next century." And "if they want my gun, they will have to pry it from my cold hands." Oh please! Is the right to own a gun (weapon), the only right that is important to Mr. Heston and his gang of weak minded, ignorant followers. Is the right to live one's life without the fear of being shoot by another citizen now secondary? How for instance can any rational minded person be against child safety locks, or smart gun technology? And how can any rational, intelligent, informed, person think that a .50cal rifle is needed for self defense, or hunting? Just because you want to shoot one doesn't mean you should be allowed to own what is clearly a weapon designed solely for the purpose of killing human being at long range! If you want to shoot one that bad, do something for your country and join the Army, or Marines; I am sure they will let you shot one and even become a marksman in its use.
