Friction Magazine

I was wandering around the net one morning like I normally do with my first cuppa coffee, and came across a great zine that I hadn't seen before. Friction Magazine. This morning I went back to peruse the site before writing the review and I was most intrigued by the glossy cover (well it would be a glossy cover if it was a print mag) on the August/September Issue. The present issue of Friction Magazine is truly a great one as are all the past issues that I have read. Not only does Friction offer the aspiring poet a platform for his works but they also cover fiction, non-fiction and art and as an added feature have a very active Forum that's worth a visit.

Submissions:
Friction Magazine has some very specific submission guidelines so I strongly suggest you visit their site at: http://www.frictionmag.com click on submissions and read carefully.

About the Publisher:
William Peck, publisher of Friction Magazine - a journal of writers and artists, is a journalist and poet living in the Kansas City area. His work has appeared in numerous print and online publications. Locally, he is known for his raucous style of poetry reading and his pinball skills.

"Friction Magazine is a publication dedicated to what is excellent, not necessarily what is pleasant." http://www.frictionmag.com

In my opinion:
As a poet I am always looking for spots to submit poetry. As a poet of mainly off-beat, sometimes weird and always non-traditional styles there is a limited market for my work. If you are a non-traditional poet, this may be a place for you to submit work too. If you aren't, this is a great magazine to visit and read. Check out the archives as well, there is some good reading in there. In fact, why not opt for their email notification service so you won't have to worry about missing a single issue. Friction Magazine, a good read at a great price.
