aaack

aaack is a strange little zine that will feature poetry, prose, essays, commentary, and links. It has been online for some time but it seems that it was "forgotten in cyberspace" for the past year. Recently reawakened, aaack is open for submissions from all the folks out there who write stuff that that just doesn't seem to be "right" for most of the online zines out there.

Submissions:
aaack accepts pretty much any submission that is readable and makes some vague form of sense. Submissions should be sent in the body of an email to: littlebits@canada.com Short stories should be just that, short. Essays and commentaries no longer than 1200 words. Poems can be of any length put epics are discouraged. Since this site is NOT a family oriented site, any genre is accepted from the sublimely stupid to the sexually explicit.

From the Editor:

"aaack" was just a whim that hit me when I saw the cool graphics from http://www.fullmoongraphics.com I wanted to use them for something but I felt that it had to be something unusual. At the time I had a few submissions to another poetry zine that didn't suit the content and I felt that an uncensored site would be a good place to put them. After establishing the site I went on a hiatus of sorts and had actually forgotten about the site until I came across it by accident a couple of months ago. It is now being completely revamped and I am actively seeking content for the site and hope to develope it into a platform for the weird, the unusual and the hard to place scratchings of poets and writers."

In my opinion:
Normally I wouldn't review a site that is so totally unestablished but I feel that this zine has the potential to turn into something interesting. The host for this site certainly seems like an appropriate place for "aaack" to call home. I think most of us have written some trashy pieces that we knew just wouldn't be accepted by the mainstream zines. Instead of letting those pieces just fall by the wayside, aaack will give them a good home. If you are one of those folks who have a pile of unpublished "stuff", you might consider sending some of it along to aaack.
