"Australian's all let us rejoice, for we are young and free.."
Well, the election is over. Long live the election. We get to do it all again in 3 years. We survived the hype, the promises and the handouts. But did we achieve anything? Anything at all? Did we keep them honest? Do we think that they will honour their promises? Do they truly represent us? Well they sure don't represent those people held in detention centres. Or have we forgotten them? We may be young and free but those children still being held, yes they are still there, are getting older and are definitely not free. I wonder if you considered where Australia stands on human rights when you cast your vote. Or don't you care? Our politicians, in the main, don't care.
