Ruth Daigon’s Payday at the Triangle Released

Ruth Daigon’s newest book, Payday at the Triangle (Small Poetry Press, Select Poets Series), pays homage to those who both survived and died in the Triangle Factory Fire. The fire occurred in 1911 in New York City, and 147 young people died. Ruth creates a poetic marker in the form of a poetry collage that gives voice to the survivors, the dead, the onlookers, and everyone else whose lives were touched by this tragedy.

Tillie Olsen describes the book as poetry that, “gives life to those who perished in the fire as no one has done before.” She calls Payday, “a poignant and beautifully written account.” Studs Terkel says, “Ruth Daigon’s poetic remembrance touched me as profoundly as any I’ve read in years. It brought forth feelings of anger and sorrow. It is so contemporary...a must.”

Ms. Daigon ranks as one of the most prolific and effective voices in contemporary American poetry. Her latest book is available for $9.00 (includes postage) from:
