other children. She graduated from high school in Winnsboro. She taught herself secretarial skills, and worked in that capacity for various organizations in town. Finally, she settled at the Clemson Extension Service where she retired. She lived through the Depression, and remembers the pulling together of the family to make ends meet. She is frugal to this day. She also lived through World War II in which her husband served. To this day, she is still friends with others in Winnsboro who shared that experience. She was married and celebrated a 50th Wedding aniversary. Unfortunately, my father had a disabling illness in the latter part of life, and she attended him faithfully. She has four children and six grandchildren and two great-grand children. Family gatherings are still a must in our family. She has never had any formal art training but always loved to paint. The place of origin of these paintings was Winnsboro, since she has never traveled widely. These works are previously unpublished."
