National Poetry Month Kickoff
Within the last couple years, the celebration of National Poetry Month has come into its own. The efforts of organizations like the American Academy of Poets have paid off in elevating the national consciousness to appreciate poetry. Poetry Month at suite101.com will be celebrated during April, and we ourselves hope to increase awareness of a genre that brings joy to many, both in the reading and the writing of it. For a full listing of all the events we've planned, have a look at In Celebration of National Poetry Month. You'll find lots to read and participate in on this page.

Submit your url to our "Personal Poetry Pages" category.

At suite101.com, I planned this event with one thing in mind: fun. I wanted all our members and visitors to have options here that would both inform and entertain. One aspect of this celebration has been my discovery of personal poetry pages. Those of you who would like to share your pages need only to submit your url below. Once Poetry Month ends on April 30, 1999, I will be establishing a new link category for urls submitted to this group. Poetry Month--Add url here!.

Rick Meyer shared his poetry pages with me not long ago. After visiting my topic, he told me about My Literary Works. Rick's poetry comes off as polished, crafted, and sensitive. His site is well constructed, and designed to load quickly. As I wandered through his poetry, I realized that most of us who devote our time to this genre have only one thing in mind - a love of poetry.
