Uncommon Mentors


is very personal, this poem speaks of a kind of personalness we all know." It really gave me pause. I withheld the "show don't tell" lecture, withheld the admonishment to "go for more imagery." I asked them flatly, what do you want from a poem? It was an interesting moment I've been working towards for awhile.

Lucky girls, to have such an uncommon mentor. Lucky me to have had the same.
