The Women Who Suffer Neuropathic Diseases - What is to be done?I have had the chance to observe a specific neurologist in his handling of a woman during an examination. If I had not observed this directly - I never would have believed that a doctor could be so cruel and pompous all at the same time. This poor example of a medical practitioner sworn to the Hippocratic oath - is a neurologist and is still practicing in a coastal town of California. So - as we proceed in our examination of the gantlet that women have to traverse - simply because they have fallen (innocent) victim to a neuropathic disease - we begin to see the effect that such ill considerations play in their lives and affect the very disease with which they are afflicted. Effects on the Individual The effects of neuropathic disease on anyone are quite devastating. But it is doubly devastating to a woman. This because she does not appear to be ill, so no sympathy or care is given and she is expected to continue to fulfill her role as mother - housewife - and mate. It is this lack of sympathy and care and consideration that is the central troika of the plight of the active woman who contracts neuropathic disease. The woman who is housewife within an established family is now afflicted with a painful neuropathic disease and receives no sympathy and little of any support from the other family members. This state of affairs is more than enough to drive her to despair and to become severely depressed. Depression and anxiety exacerbate the pain of neuropathic diseases because of the neurotransmitters that are released when strong emotions are experienced. Thus begins an endless spiral into a very disturbed state of mind from the continued pain associated with the disease and the loss of hope that it can ever get better. Thus the hapless victim - the woman with neuropathic disease - is scorned and isolated within her family. Her doctors and the hospital personnel are most likely to be equally inattentive. If an insurance company or the Workman's Compensation board is involved - then it is but an extension of the attitudes of the medical personnel. Reality Check It is surprising that these victims - the women with neuropathic disease do not go insane. I am in daily contact with several women who suffer both the disease and the effects of the disease. This is no idle conjecture but is related from
