Cyber DietsThe opportunities offered to us by the World Wide Web are endless. The Internet provides us with a means for doing research on any and every subject, it supplies us with many different types of entertainment, and it helps us make friends throughout the world. There is very little that you cannot do on the Internet. Even dieting has not escaped the "cyber world". What could be more convenient than obtaining your personal diet right from your computer? Or attending weight loss support groups from the comfort of your own home? After seeing several commercials and Internet ad banners for different diet programs, I decided to take a look and see what they were all about. One of the sites I found is definitely worth mentioning. That site is eDiets, located at http://www.ediets.com . What I found at their website was a full fledged diet center online! This site has everything from personalized diets, to support groups with online meetings! What could be easier than going to your weekly meeting, at home, in your pajamas? The only thing this diet site is missing is the scale! Here are some of the benefits eDiets has to offer: ~ An online Support Team which offers Emotional Support and the ability to interact with a staff psychologist to address the impact of emotional eating. ~ Over 400 eDiet member coaches that will help you reach your goal! ~ Online meetings, support boards and chats where you can post messages, share ideas and meet friends with the same struggles and concerns you experience. ~ Their support boards are broken down into categories so that you can communicate with people who have the same goals as you. Some of their boards include: 100 Plus Club, Fit and Fifty(ish), The Men's Room, Buddy Board, Motivation and New Members. ~ Everything you need to reach your goal including custom meal plans, grocery shopping lists, and progress charts. eDiets offers the convenience of accessing your personal diet, their support team, and/or message boards anytime, day or night. It's private and it's simple. Does this sound too good to be true? Well there is one small catch - it's not FREE. There is a membership fee of $40.00 for 3 months or $75.00 for one year. Think about it though, the 3 month membership is only a little over $3 a week! That’s 1/3 of the price of a Weight Watchers meeting.
