Using the "Writer's Market"

simplistic style, I usually get a 50% or 60% return rate. Of course, many are responding that they're not interested, but at least I'm getting responses and know which ones to mark off the list, in order to keep accurate records. And even with queries, it may take a while. I sometimes receive SASPs back more than a year after sending my query letters.

Only after all mail campaigns have been exhausted, do I begin looking at the places requesting a full script be submitted.

At any rate, these listings are in this book because these people are actively seeking new material. And as long as you carefully match your scripts to their needs, you have a good chance of finding a fit. And perhaps fame and fortune. Who knows?
