Steamy Rooms

Did you know that you can self-treat many joint aches and pains by sitting in a steamy bathroom for 15 to 20 minutes? As a matter of fact, when you are exposed to steam heat, your sweat glands become activated, your body temperature raises, and this, in turn, lets the body make more white blood cells which lets your body be more active in preventing infections. While you sweat, you are also getting rid of the harmful substances in your system!

Home Steam Bath Room

Close the bathroom door, turn your shower on full-blast until the room is good and steamy. Have a seat anywhere in the bathroom, and breath in the steam for about 15 to 20 minutes. It's nice to take a nice comfy lawnchair in there and sit. You should not stay in the steam for longer than 15 to 20 minutes. This type of self-steam exercise helps to relieve joint pain, muscle tension, and stress, not to mention the WONDERFUL things it can do for your complexion, circulation, sinus congestion, and over-tiredness.

To give the whole process a bit of "oomph", take a shower beforehand, dry off, make the home steam bath room above nice and steamy, and stay in there for 15 to 20 minutes. After this time is up, walk around your bedrooms or house for about 5 minutes and take an "air" bath. When that 5 minutes is up, take a lukewarm to cool shower, and try to lay down and rest for about 30 minutes.
