Green Peppers and Nothing Else!

The weather hasn't been much better here. Actually, it has gotten worse. The kids can't play outside because it is so humid, and at least every other day there is a heat index warning advising against so.

The garden is quite a mess. The plants are so wilted, and their fruits are only half grown. Even with city water, when it is allowed, (as there is quite a steep fine for using it when there are water conservation rules to follow) the plants are not doing much. I have lost two tomato plants, two squash plants, gotten 6 green beans, only one crop of peas, and one of my azalea bushes has shriveled up, never to return. I guess what bothers me most, is that we dug our garden by hand. (I had some extra pounds to lose, and didn't have access to a tiller at the time.) All that hard work for this. Oh well, I guess there is always next year. They say this is the second driest summer in history. I am not sure, but I think the first was back in 1934.

My green peppers are a different story. They thrive on long, humid, dry days. I have an abundance of green peppers. Too bad my husband can't stand them. I love them, but I must freeze chopped bits to use this winter, as I just can't eat them all myself.

Well, enough of my worries and woes.

Following are a couple sites to help you and the kids pass the time indoors. I found these sites to be alot of fun! Especially the water skier. (If I can't be out in a swimming pool, at least I can pretend.) These should keep them busy for some time! Of course, they will need your supervision while on the computer, but the games are pretty easy. Even the older kids would like them I am sure.

Hydroglider is my personal favorite. It's fun to see if you can avoid the sharks and do neat jumps on the ramps, and just "dream" of the nice cool water!

The Game Archives has a listing of games that are lots of fun. Most are pretty easy, but the slideboard puzzles can be frustrating.Take a look, and make sure to play the concentration games. They are fun, and the kids will like them too!

Lastly, the Shockrave site has many different activities. The older kids will love the different musical art they can create, and so will you.
