Taking Great Pictures --- The Myths

There are three basic rules to point & shoot photography:

  • Get in Close
  • Fill the Frame
  • Master the Light

Equipment

Virtually all gadgets and gizmos made for photography only make our jobs easier. They do not change the basic principle that a photograph is a record of light. Even the simplest disposable camera can and will give you great results if you take your time and think about what you really want to capture. Just pressing the button will result in a brief instance of light being recorded on film. A snap shot! An image is created when you decide what it is you want to record. It is a thought, a plan, and a decisive moment before you press the shutter.
