The editorial board of Hippias consists of general editor Peter Suber (Earlham College), managing editor Anthony F. Beavers (University of Evansville), and five associate editors who include two whose own sites are among my own recommendations: Dey Alexander (Monash Unversity), editor of the Philosophy in Cyberspace site and James Fieser (University of Tennessee at Martin), editor of The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

I have wondered if the Hippias site is named after Hippias of Elis, the fifth-century B.C. Sophist and polymath reputed to have had a phenomenal memory, perhaps appropriate for a site whose editors boast that Hippias will respond to users' search queries with working links an estimated 98 percent of the time. In repeated searches I have found nothing which would contradict this claim. Such reliability and usefulness make Hippias your essential starting point for Internet research in philosophy.
