Braving Davao
In the evening, a moonlit walk by the beach was very soothing. Nothing would truly beat nature. Samal Casino Resort Ready for the next day adventures, I couldn’t wait to see what a casino resort is like off the city ---in an island which is actually 50 minutes away by boat (from the city). Located in the same island of Samal but almost on the opposite side, the Samal Casino Resort could be reached in a convenient 20 minute-boatride from the Pearl Farm. Even before we docked, the vast complex of the resort was stunning. Claimed to be the first in the country to offer hotel accommodations, recreations and gaming facilities all in one, the Samal Casino resort is like a country club in an unspoiled environment. Samal Casino has a variety of accommodations ---from hilltop rooms to over-the-water-rooms, from regular to deluxe and suites. This resort complex is designed to accommodate not only families on vacation but also business partners on the go. It offers convention facilities and large multi-purpose rooms, all equipped with conference facilities. But for us, week-end vacationer nothing is more delightful than adventures. The resort’s vast forest is best for mountain biking, trekking and spelunking, while its water sports include scuba diving, jet skis and kayaking. That was my first time to kayak , and that was real fun . Lounging by the pool became my next leisure pursuit, and it did not take me long to meet a new friend willing to play water basketball with me. The loser in the game (the one who got fewer points)treated for a merienda ---a fresh mango shake---at the sunken-pool-bar. But please don't ask me who the loser was! Only after the day was over that I realized I tanned myself more than enough.
