From stylish table settings, fruit and vegetable-carved works of art and delectable dishes, to a varied showcase of products and equipments from food and beverage companies all over the Philippines, the Cebu Goes Culinary 2004 was a huge extravaganza that gathered the best that the world can offer in one grand show.
"Cebu Goes Culinary", an offshoot of the HRRAC's goal of building up Cebu as a culinary Mecca in the Philippines, was even made grander by the presence of world-class chefs and by coming up with highlights that included new activities in the art of food and beverage preparation.
"Giving focus on the promotion of Cebu's cuisine would enable the province to reach out globally in the tourism industry," HRRAC president Jessica Avila said.
Highlighting the event was the more than 20 competitions participated by professional food handlers as well as students who are experts in the food and beverage industry. Among the categories were the Display Class, Live Practical Cooking, Practical Artistic Class, and Cocktail Mixing.
Indeed, the "Cebu Goes Culinary 2004," excellently showed the world that Cebu is not only a place of white-sand beaches and diving spots but also the melting pot of international cuisines.
