Hmmm... What Should You Feed Your Rats?
consider "bad" to give to ratties. Here is a list of some of these foods:
*any foods high in citrus content (especially oranges that contain d-limonene which has been proven to cause kidney cancer in male rats)
*chocolate (I feel that if it is given in moderation it can be fine for them and can be used to help a rat that is having slight difficulty breathing)
*large amounts of seeds/nuts can be bad because of the high protein/fat content
*large amount of green leafy foods can give them diarrhea which can cause dehydration
I will not recommend any of the above diets because everyone has their own preferences of what the ideal thing to feed our ratties is; use these diets as a guideline to create your own! REMEMBER: Rats can eat most anything, as long as it is given in moderation!
