Hairless? Dumbo? Blazed? - OH MY! (Part 2)


  • Irish - An Irish rat has a white upside down triangle on its chest.  The rat should have white front legs.
  • Masked - A Masked rat has exactly that; a colored mask over its eyes.  (Think Zoro!)
  • Variegated - A Variegated rat has fur that is a mix of white and another color.
  •  

    Now let's discuss the many colors of rats!  I will only talk about a handful of colors that you may see on rats, as there are so may. 

     

     

    • Agouti - brown base color with white and gray guard hairs
    • Beige - light tan

    ·        Black - dark, full black with out any white mixed in

    ·        Blue - bluish / grey

    ·        Champagne - very light beige

    ·        Chocolate - warm, rich brown

    ·        Cinnamon - warm brown with chocolate guard hairs

    ·        Coffee - light brown (somewhat like the color of coffee with cream)

    ·        Fawn - warm orange

    ·        Himalayan - white rat with brown color points on the face, ears, front/back legs, feet, and tail

    ·        Lilac - medium gray with a kind of purplish sheen

    ·        Mink - grayish brown with a kind of bluish sheen

    ·        Siamese - shaded medium beige with brown points on  face, ears, front/back legs, feet, and tail

    ·        Black Eyed White - white rat with black eyes
