Now that you've figured out if you have a rat that is a rex, hairless, or perhaps a dumbo, let's figure what colors and markings your rat has!

First we'll go over the some of the MARKINGS that your rat may have:

  • Bareback - A Bareback rat should have a white head, with the white extending over the throat and shoulders.
  • Berkshire - A Berkshire rat is white all over the chest and belly.  The top side of the rat is a different color.  They normally have white all four legs and the tail may have some white on it.
  • Blaze - A rat with a Blaze should have a triangular shaped white marking on its face that runs down its nose.
  • Capped - A Capped rat has a white head; the white should not go back any further then its ears.
  • Dalmatian - A Dalmatian rat has small spots of color all over a white body.
  • Hooded - A Hooded rat will have the same head marking (although in a color) as a Bareback with a stripe running all the way down the center of its back to its tail.
