Why Change?Perhaps you are simply stuck in a rut that, while comfortable, contains your ability to try new things within walls of fear. For example, suppose you always wanted to try taking a martial arts class or try out for a part in a community theater play. These are not major necessities in your life, so you don't bother doing them. You think you might try them someday, but not now. If not now, when? There's no Someday in the days of the week. You might think these events are not life-sustaining (although knowing a martial art could save your life), but they ARE life-enhancing. Delve deeper for a solution. One solution is to realize that instructors need students and community theaters need actors—they won't make fun of you or turn you away! Get beyond your fear and have some fun! Whatever changes you want to make in your life, it is up to you to make them. They aren't going to just happen to you. Sure, change beyond your control does happen and always will, but if you have the power to make the changes that you personally want to happen in your life, you must put that power into action! Instead of asking, "Why change?" ask, "Why not?" Find solutions, not excuses. Make your next five years better than the last five, starting now!
