Securing your home wireless network

Change the SSID - The Service Set Identifier (SSID) is the rough equivalent of the workgroup name found in Windows networking. It is used for identifying the wireless LAN (or WLAN). Most routers come with a default SSID. Changing the SSID doesn't actually prevent anyone from accessing your network, but a default SSID indicates a poorly configured network, and it is much more likely to be attacked.
