Creeping Charlie
Also known as Ground Ivy or Glechoma hederacea, this creeping plant often invades sites with shade and poor soil drainage. When crushed it yeilds a pleasant, minty scent. The flowers are small and pale pink. Sometimes this is sold in the spring as a basket stuffer, along with other invasive little creepers such as nepeta, dead nettle and false nettles. All can prove to be high rampant and the only one I would recommend is creeping charlie for it's ability to escape the low pass of a mower. Creeping Charlie can provide a nice transition between lawn and foundation planting in shade.

Mushrooms
Whether lawn fungi take the form of enchanting fairie rings, mysterious puff balls or strange and slimy pads, mushrooms are at least of interest. Lawns which are well fed and watered usually have less of a mushroom problem, but encouraging them is difficult. Each mushroom likes a different environment. A good way to start is to collect fruiting caps and setting them down on your lawn. The spores will release and if the setting is right, mushrooms will follow the following year.
