Forward and Back buttons now have a drop-down list. This I like. When following links several deep within a site, rather than backing out one page at a time, you can jump several pages. I find this most useful! History button. This keeps track of sites you have visited today or in the last week. How many times have you thought "I went to a site last Monday but I can't remember . . . ." The history button will tell you! Ability to zoom in or out of individual graphics (note: this needs the IE 4.00 power toy add-on). Very useful to be able to zoom in (and back out) of graphics. If you are looking at thumbnails and don't want to wait for a full picture to load, use this feature. Be aware, though, that the thumbnail will distort and won't give you a true picture. But at least you will get a better idea! Windows 95 Changes This is where Microsoft has a distinct advantage over Netscape they have written changes into the basic Windows 95 environment. Is this a taster to Windows 98? Here are some of the important features. You can have your PC files behave like a web page in that they become links (that is, single clicking will open them). I must admit, I hated this and it confused me at first! I am used to double clicking files to open them and single clicking to select. However, each to his or her own and you prefer it. Mercifully, this feature can be turned off easily. Most Windows users will want to do this! Addition of a new toolbar in the system tray area. The default has IE 4.00, Outlook Express (e-mail and news client), Show desktop and View channels buttons quite useful, especially the show desktop as it clears the clutter from your screen! Windows Explorer looks very similar to Internet Explorer, with similar toolbars. I also like the way Windows Explorer can show hidden/system file attributes as well as displaying the archive bit. Your favourites folder has been added to Programs
