Have a Harry Potter Birthday!

Set out a big bowl of mixed flavors of gourmet jelly beans, and label them with a little sign identifying them as "Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans". In particular, if you go to a candy store you'll find many interesting and exotic flavors, but (thankfully) not some of the flavors mentioned in the books. ;-) If you want to make it a costume party, kids can come dressed as their favorite character, and the adults at the party can dress like Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Snape, etc. Have a birthday cake decorated with brooms and quidditch balls, pointy wizard hats & wands. If you or your decorator are especially talented at figure piping, a quidditch game could be created on top of a sheet cake. I'm sure there are endless ideas to be drawn from the books for additional decorations, food, and games. If you have some please post them!
