Happy Anniversary!

Anniversary parties are very special, joyous occasions. There are many ways in which you can bring a creative and personal touch to the party you're planning. The first thing to do is research. Find out whatever you can about the couple's wedding. If possible, get pictures taken at the reception so that you can examine the colors, flowers, decorations, etc. You can emulate the look of the wedding in the anniversary party. It's not necessary to match exactly, but if the bride used daisies at the wedding, you can use daisies in your decorations. If the attendants at the wedding all wore lavender, you can add a touch of lavender here and there. Candles and napkins are good places to utilize the accent colors. A really special touch is to have the original wedding cake recreated. Of course, you may want a much smaller version of the original, but any good bakery or cake decorator should be able to come up with something perfect.

Along with your research, you may also find some "supplies" from the wedding that you can use. A special wedding cake knife, "bride and groom" wine glasses, maybe even the original wedding cake topper. If they saved these things they saved them for a reason. This is a great reason! You could even get really lucky and find a box of printed napkins left-over from the wedding with the couple's names and the date on them. There is absolutely no better time to bring these things out!

Find lots of photographs of the couple that chronicle their life together. Photos of them dating, wedding photos, and photos of special events in their history together. You can put them in frames and set them out on a table, you can assemble them in an album for guests to look at, you can do some of both. The best thing about this carry-over of wedding details to the anniversary party is that you can incorporate it into any type of party. Whether your party in at home or in a banquet room, on a boat or in your back yard, for 100 people or for 10, you can use these special touches.

Wherever your party is, have a great time, take lots of pictures, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
