Quick, Easy Centerpieces for Bridal Showers, Valentine's Day, Parties, and Thanksgiving© Becky Doland
Here is a list of quick and easy centerpieces for engagement parties or bridal showers, Valentine's Day, birthday parties, summer parties, and Thanksgiving.
Engagement Party or Bridal Shower Start with a tall taper candle in the center. Surround with small cordial glasses of varying heights. Pour a small amount of water in each glass, and place the bloom of one good-sized flower in each, having cut very short stems to sit in the glasses. Daisies or open roses are a great choice, but even carnations will work nicely. Set small fancy picture frames around the glasses, each one holding a different photo of the couple. Valentine’s Day Find a large, clear glass brandy snifter. Set a tall, red taper candle in the center. Hold the candle upright with one hand, and with your other hand fill the snifter three-quarters of the way up with Hershey’s kisses, still in their wrappers. Fill in around the candle so that the kisses hold it up straight. Sprinkle some heart-shaped confetti (available at party stores) around the candle on the table. Be careful not to let the taper burn all the way down to the kisses. Birthday Party Wrap a brick in paper as if it were a birthday present. Use wrapping paper to go with the theme of the party, or the colors of your table linens. Fill several balloons with helium. Tie long lengths of curling ribbon to the balloons, tying the other end around the brick. Make sure the ribbon is long enough to tie into a bow on top of the brick, and using scissors, curl the ends. You can also tie curled, shorter lengths of ribbon at the base of each balloon as streamers. Summertime Fill a large, glass pitcher filled with a bouquet of summer flowers. Another option is to create a "candle garden." Set three pillar candles, each of a different height, on a plate. Tuck flower blooms around them on the plate. Fall/Thanksgiving Try a basket filled with small, colorful gourds and mini pumpkins, with a length of silk ivy wound around the handle. Another choice is a small pumpkin, hollowed out and filled with water as a vase for a bouquet of fall flowers. Go To Page: 1
