I have many fond memories of Christmas and want to create wonderful memories for my son as well. One memory that I have as a child, is getting to meet Santa at a house party with all of my friends. We have some great photos from that party and great childhood memories as well.
You, too can host a "meet Santa" party. Here is how to do it. First, recruit a friend to portray Santa (as you know, Santa is on a tight schedule right now ;)). You can find some great Santa costumes at: http://www.shindigz.com/ Next, decorate your party area like "Santa's workshop": Find a very large sturdy chair for Santa to sit on. You may choose to slipcover the chair in a festive fabric (for the photos that will be taken). Wrap empty boxes in various sizes and embellish with ribbons and bows. Scatter these around the sides of Santa's chair and throughout the room. Decorate a Christmas tree to set on one side of Santa's chair. Fill a large red fabric sack with candy canes for Santa to pass out to the children as they leave his lap. Cook a big crock pot of mild chili and serve with oyster crackers. Also Cran-dandy coolers (see http://beverage.allrecipes.com/az/CrnDnd... ). Ask parents of guests to each bring a plate of cookies to share with all. When children arrive, have them all line up to see Santa. Once they have all had a chance to sit on his lap and make their requests, take a photo of them, and then have Santa hand them a candy cane or small gift out of his bag. You could also set up a table for crafts. Provide supplies for making their own take home ornaments, etc. You can find many craft activities sets at http://www.orientaltrading.com/. You could also organize Christmas caroling through your neighborhood, or ice skating. These are the types of ideas for creating long lasting memories for all good little girls and boys this Christmas. Ho ho ho! Go To Page: 1
