Parrot Basic Instincts: Part 4 (Almost Done!!)

(8. Parrots need to bathe.
Last thing for today! Birdies gotta bathe! It is a necessary thing for all parrots (wild parrots do it, too) and even the "my parrot hates water" parrot HAS to be gently and gradully encouraged to bathe. You know what? That "hate" isn't hate; it's fear. The bird obviously was not taught to take a bath and will not do so till taught. Perhaps it was not raised in a nurturing manner that encouraged curiousity. SO.....guess what you gotta do? Yep. Help him! Baths are a necessary part of both parrot psychology and physiology. They need the stimulation. A parrot behaviorist can help guide you in how to approach this situation and offer teaching methods to aid your bird, should you have a parrot with "bathing issues."

OK..... any questions for today? Boy we covered a lot! AND we are almost through with this series. So, till next time...don't get your feathers ruffled!
