Well, the holiday rush has caught up to me, and I completely forgot I had a deadline on the horizon. My little brain has been filled with visions of play off games and Christmas presents. So, the second half of the bowling article will come with the next installment. (I should know better than to come up with a column that needs a lot of web searching when I am pressed for time.)
The nicest thing about the holiday season is that we get a break. Basketball season began in November, and every Thursday now is a hustle of shuttling the kid from Scouts to ball practice. The games start in January. So, for a week, there will be no basketball to rush to, no games to fit in into our schedule. Dance is also on a break, which means that our ballerina can come home from school and clean her room. Our Christmas presents, as usual, are filled with goodies from favorite sports teams and sporting toys. My son will be disappointed that he won’t be getting the bowling ball he asked for, but we just didn’t think now was the time. He bowls in a league through school, and I didn’t think taking the ball to school would be a good idea. So, we’re waiting for a locker at the bowling alley to free up. A gift for the future, I guess. But I did get him a wrist brace. Keeping that wrist from bending is so important. On the other hand, my daughter will be thrilled that Santa is encouraging her athletic endeavor with several new pairs of pointe shoes and a foot spa to massage her sore toes. We’re going to see a hockey game over the break and perhaps catch a basketball game or two. The college bowl games aren’t as exciting, not without our team playing. But we’ll watch them, because we’re addicted to sports. And now it is time for me to start wrapping presents. A happy holiday season to all! ,Well, the holiday rush has caught up to me, and I completely forgot I had a deadline on the horizon.
