What am I going to be for Halloween??? This is a question that has plaqued me every year since I can remember. Now, all of a sudden, I have 2 other people to think of (3 if you count Steve – HA) costumes for also.
Right around the same time I was thinking of costume ideas, I got another brilliant idea; or so I thought!! My idea was to make a video for everyone in the family, so they could see how much the boys have changed and grown. Good idea, right?? Well, ok idea as it turned out. I gathered the video camera, five empty tapes and started writing various ideas of what I could tape them doing. I know, 2 month old babies don’t really do much of anything. Well, then I had to place them in various poses with various backgrounds. So I started with them sitting up on the sofa in their ghost costumes (baptismal outfits). Pop in one tape, tape them for a few minutes, pop that tape out, pop in the next one, tape them for a few minutes and so on until I had taped them as ghosts for a few minutes on each of the five tapes. In the next 5 or 6 hours I believe I taped the boys in 4 or 5 different locations in the house with different backdrops and in different outfits (I think I quit changing them into different outfits after the first 3). A friend later asked why I didn’t just copy the tapes instead of taping the same thing 5 different times. What can I say, I was on a mission, very tired and not thinking straight. I would probably suggest to other parent who are thinking of doing this same thing – tape once and copy. But, everyone loved their tape they got in their Christmas package, so I guess it was worth in after all. Halloween night: I put the boys in their Ghost costumes and took pictures of them, handed out candy to about 4 kids and went to bed. All that worrying about their costumes and it was over in about 2 hours – I wish I could say the same now!! The only that is the same 8 years later - the boys and I still worry about what our costumes will be for Halloween! Go To Page: 1 2
