Eleanore Zugun, Poltergeist Agent or Possessed?

she made a self-fulfilling prophecy out of her grandmother's words that she had ingested Dracu.

During Eleanore's visit with Price, he noticed that small items and letters from the bulletin board often fell from the ceiling into the room where the girl was. He had found that one of Eleanore's aports was an enameled metal letter like those used on the building's bulletin board. He and his colleagues were stunned to find out that the letter had been removed from the box that had arrived the previous day. The box was placed in a cupboard that was four stories below them and few people knew the box had arrived; yet, the letter that fell on Eleanore was missing from the box.

The last event Price recorded happened shortly before Eleanore and Zoe returned to Vienna. He put the box containing the letters in a place known only to him and it was locked up.

Some of the letters, "C," still vanished.

Dr. R. J. Tillyard, an Australian etymologist and collaborator of Price, stopped by to say farewell to Zoe and Eleanore. The visit was brief and he did not get closer than an arm's length to the women. Later, he was on a train and reached into his pocket and found the letter, "C" in his pocket. His pocket had been empty and the letter had been lost for 11 days.

Price discovered that Romanian villagers would threaten children with Dracu as was done in the UK and the USA with the boogeyman. Dracu would bite and scratch. Unconsciously, when the marks appeared, Eleanore associated these with Dracu and tormented herself with the things that had been told to her as a child.

Eleanore had not yet reached puberty when she was studied by Price. In 1928, she reached womanhood and had a rapid physical and mental development. It is often the case with children who are poltergeist agents that the psi stops spontaneously when they go through puberty.

The case has a good ending. Zoe found a hairdresser with whom Eleanore could serve as an apprentice. The girl was successful, earned a diploma and returned to Romania. She moved to Czernowitz and started her own business. Dracu was a thing from the past and never tormented her again.
