Letters from Readers

pretty weak to me. But, I don't know how to change the pattern. It's been a long time and I do not feel very self sufficient. I know this is long, but I am hoping for some general advice and maybe some direction into trying to turn my life and myself around. Everyone tells me I am very smart, I love to read, do very well helping my son with college level work, have 3 beautiful granddaughters and another one on the way. Most people would say "you have it made", but I am miserable and don't know what to do about it. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer: You sound like you have a good handle on where your problems lie - that is the first step! I am fond of saying to people - Baby Steps.....just take baby steps. Do just one thing for yourself today - something, anything, that makes you smile! And tomorrow, do something else. Make it a daily habit. Put a sign on your bathroom mirror that says "Be Nice!". We all crash now and then - but no one can make you get up but YOU! Learn how to walk again - do it by taking baby steps. If you would like, I would be more than happy to send you an inspirational email every morning to keep you motivated!!

Don't give up, don't give in, and most of all, look in the mirror every morning and remind yourself that you deserve to be treated with love and respect. YOU DESERVE IT!

My new email is nomorepanic@email.com and you can respond there! :)

Peace, Karen

"No one is brave by nature. It's okay to be afraid sometimes. It's okay to not win all the time. It's okay to be anxious. We think we need permission to be ourselves...being imperfect, afraid, anxious, not winning all the time, IS being who we already are! BE BRAVE THERFORE AND DARE TO BE HUMAN. Be yourself." = Stella Savoie

Dear Karen: Let me just say that I am very glad I found your site. I am a 14 year old 8th grader. I have normal family life, I do fine in school, and have no problem making friends. During the end of December
