Quick Updates

Quite a few of the programs I've previously featured have come out with new versions since I wrote about them. I decided to start a new series where every so often I update you on changes to one or more previously featured applications, websites, or accessories.

Since my original article on BlackJack Solitaire published December 21, 1999, Seahorse Software has released a new version with a completely new set of levels called hard levels. In these levels, each row comes with a pre-dealt card. You must still deal additional cards to each row coming as close to 21 as possible without going over. The original levels with no pre-dealt cards are still available but are now called easy levels. The high score page reflects these changes, separately listing the top 10 scores in all 10 of the currently available levels.

Since my original article on pz published January 8, 2000, Hoshi Takanari has released a new version that supports deleting and beaming files in addition to compression/uncompression and file filtering by location and type. This new version now does everything that the popular application Z'Catalog does in the way of file manipulation on the Palm.

Finally, one sad note. Pro-techniq is no longer operating a retail outlet in the United States. I featured their screen protectors in Out Damn Scratch originally published on February 8, 2000. In addition to screen protectors, Pro-techniq sold stylii with reset pins and screwdrivers in their tips.
