Book Review: Dinosaurs Alive! The Dinosaur-Bird Connection

Chapter 7 "Dinosaurs Alive!" mentions other flying animals: insects, pterosaurs, and bats, as well as extinct birds such as Hesperornis which lost the ability to fly. This chapter also emphasizes the fact that not all of the fossil evidence linking birds and dinosaurs has yet been discovered.

Michael Skrepnick's paintings are lush and realistic, and his anatomical diagrams are labeled and easily identified. I look forward to seeing more of his work in future books.

Overall, I enjoyed Dinosaurs Alive!. I have not had the opportunity to test out the book with some young readers, but I feel that the book is well-written and informative for the age group that it is targeted toward. I look forward to seeing future collaborations between JPI and Random House.
