"Jurassic Park III": A Review

Tyrannosaurus rex
in a plaster jacket (we do get to see a field jacket) and taken back to the museum, where the bones could be prepared without the risk of them being further damaged. Such as the damage that might be caused by lying across the fossil, which we see a student doing in this scene. Be sure to read my series of articles on Fossil Preparation for more information.

Another paleontological complaint that I have heard from a lot of paleontologists for all three movies is that many of the dinosaurs featured in the "Jurassic Park" movies are not from the Jurassic Period (195 to 140 million years ago), but actually lived during the Cretaceous Period (140 to 65 million years ago). Let's do a quick run-down: Stegosaurus - Jurassic through Cretaceous. Brachiosaurus - late Jurassic to early Cretaceous. Ceratosaurus - late Jurassic. Compsognathus - late Jurassic. Spinosaurus - mid Cretaceous. Ankylosaurus - mid to late Cretaceous. Raptors - late Cretaceous. Tyrannosaurus - late Cretaceous. Corythosaurus - late Cretaceous. Parasaurolophus - late Cretaceous.
