Membership benefits usually include free admission to the museum and many programs and/or a discount. If you visit your local museum on a regular basis, this is well worth it! Many museums, including the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, participate in the Science Museum Passport Program (sponsored by the Association of Science-Technology Centers) and becoming a member of your local museum gives you free admission to science and technology museums across the United States and in several other countries. If you are like my husband and I, who always seek out museums when we travel, this is an excellent benefit and well worth the membership fees.
