Lahore also contains the most important building of Pakistan's history and that is Minar-e-Palistan (tower of Pakistan), it represents the place where Muslim league (political party headed by Jinnah, which worked for the independence for the Muslims of the region) on 23rd of March 1940 passed the resolution for the independent state. The tomb of great philosopher and poet Allama iqbal who conceived the idea of a separate nation for the Muslims is also in Lahore. Allma iqbal is also known as the poet of the east for the work he did for the Muslims of the Sub- continent.
