This topic is one that I think
about fairly often. Not only because
of my involvement in Paganism while
I was on active duty, but because
of the overt deference to Christianity
and its foundational precepts in
the work place (at least in the
West Texas area).
One of my recent polls to this site inquired of the opinions vistors to the site had with regard to religion in the work place. The motivation for the poll was because I've been on the receiving end of the unchecked personal bias of individuals who have the power to fire me. I don't deny my Pagan and Wikkan beliefs, however, I don't go out of my way to bring up the subject. It doesn't take long to recognize personal bias in an individual just by paying attention to their conversation. So, I ask again. Is the work place the appropriate venue in which to discuss topics of a particularly sensitive nature, e.g., religion and one's views of the religious practice of those a person works with? Considering that tolerance isn't a concept easily embraced in some religions, is it wise to encourage or allow the free communication with regard to religion in the work place? These are a few questions I pose to you for your consideration and feedback. Blessings. Go To Page: 1
