To do this, have your child, and preferably their friends, go through their old clothes and toys. They can place the clothes and toys into the basket in front of the family altar. After the lighting of candles, prayers, et cetera has been done, you can take the basket to a donation center near you. While it may not make the war go away, it can help foster a sense of self empowerment and allow the child to realise that she does have some control over her own fate.
