This is the final article in our series on Energy and Perception. I hope you have enjoyed it. From here we will move on to looking once again at different forms of Paganism with a look at Chaos Magick. But, this week we are looking at how energy works within groups, such as temples, covens, and camp in comparison to solitary work.
If you add one person to the mix then you double the reach of the ripple. Add two and you triple it. Add three then you're quadrupling and so on and so forth. So what's the problem with that? Absolutely nothing, as long as all parties can stay in the same frame of mind. Focus is everything in groups. If one member is worried about her daughters dentist appointment the next day and how much the braces are going to cost instead of focusing on the work at hand, it throws a kink in the whole thing and like a burned out bulb in a string of Yule lights, effectively stops the energy flow, simply by not being focused. The more people you add the stronger the energy flow but the less likely everyone is going to be truly focused on the task at hand. The other issue to be found within a large group of people is what is known as group dynamics. Who is friendly with whom? Who is upset with whom? Is their anger or resentment between two people over something that happened last week? Then you probably won't want either of them participating as the anger can get in the way of their focus or block the energy flow from moving correctly, effectively hindering the work.
