Puerto Vallarta is known for many things, the natural beauty, historical quaintness, rich cultural diversity and its thriving artistic community. For the past few years this community has worked together to present to the public its great talent through organized art walks. Twice a month, from November to April, participating galleries open their doors to invite patrons to meet their honored artists and enjoy and an evening of art. Visitors, art collectors, residents and other artists attend these art inaugurations to chat with the artists, view and learn about fine art, and of course, to socialize.

The artists whose work is introduced come from as far away as Russia and as close as Los Muertos, however the greatest majority is artists living and working in Mexico. Works of every kind can be found during the art walks, from indigenous art to sculpture, acrylics, watercolors, folk art, jewelry, and glass art.

Seven galleries in the down town area hold their "Old Town Art Walk" each month, giving maps out at each location so attendees can easily find the next gallery, strolling down the cobblestone streets passing historic architecture, and enjoying the tropical evening breezes along the way. Once a month, the Marina Vallarta galleries celebrate at their own "Marina Art Night". Set against the backdrop of the largest marina in Mexico with its array of sailboats and yachts and with dozens of restaurants and shops, gallery goers mingle between galleries along the Marina malecon while Mariachi music plays.

These special events have become the highlight of the tourist season with up to two hundred people attending the complementary cocktail receptions. Serious art international collectors are known to plan their Puerto Vallarta vacations around these shows to add a new piece of art from their favorite artists to their personal collections.

The Art Walks of Puerto Vallarta are yet way to see the all the beautiful offerings of paradise.
