Christian Education and Culture

in the historical dimension of Christ and Church.

Christian culture recognizes the consistency and the value of creation, of the human, of matter, and its finality is the transfiguration of the world. Christian revelation does not reveal corrupt matter, nor affect the natural and human produces. The Creation, the environment, makes a whole and is the milieu in which the man develops. That means that man "sanctifies the place," imprinting it with his imagination and skill. From here the attachment for the land, for the country, as place of beauty(cosmos).

Christian culture recognizes the diversity of the world and the historical context and the universality that is reflected from diversity. Orthodoxy did not impose the imperialism of a dominant culture (as the Latin instrument), nor an abstract universality. She does not purify folklore, because it has valid cultural values in a diverse culture. The cult of diversity does not undermine the universalism, nor exhaust the divergences. For example Byzantine and Neo-Byzantine painting does not represent a rigid frame, but a large space where the iconographers can express freely.

Christian culture assumes a conception about history after which the movement of history is closed under Providence, and the divine will is not in the hands of man. Man tries to force God, to accelerate history, to change its way, to hasten the end of an injustice.
