The Globalization of the Economy and the Church

the personal freedom.

The way of the diaconate unto the world is the Orthopraxis, indicating to the Christians living in the world, to properly live the Christian life, to practice their faith. Orthopraxis it is the life of the Christians in the service of the neighbour and of the world.

The Church is in the service of the world, as Jesus Christ was and is. Christ calls Himself diakonos(Matt. 20:25), Servant that serves, and asks His disciples to be the "servants of all"(Mark 9:35). The moral life that religion inspires is not separated from the social life. We may hesitate to apply its principles into our daily life. We are called to a transfiguration in Christ, and that has to be reflected in all the aspects of our earthly life. We are called to be witnesses of the Kingdom of heaven here on earth.

There are material and spiritual means which the Church provides for its members. The Church baptizes in water invoking the grace of the Holy Spirit upon the children of God. The Church performs Christmation by unction with oil, the Chrism, that introduces the faithful to the life of the Holy Trinity. The Church care for the poor and the sick, for the lonely and the lost. In the Biblical vocabulary, the term soul means the entire human being, soul and body, and in all its personal and collective expressions.

Can the earthly governments learn from the way of the Church? Yes, they can. This is why it is important that the State keep close to the Church. In the Church is the voice of God that cares for His people. The Church does not replace any of the earthly governments. She is to inspire and to be in close cooperation with the them, for the well being of the people. The Church can give very good advise in moral and ethical applications of social life. Modern theology shows that ethics is inseparable from spiritual-social application. It is inseparable from personal spirituality and diaconate social witness. The Church invites us to gather "treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal."(Matt. 6:20). Christ says to those that are the losers in earthly affairs "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.
