I don't know about you; but, I find February to be a month when my energy lags. There is no long weekend to look forward to (in Canada anyway) it seems like a long stretch to vacation time. All I feel like doing is pulling the blankets up and spending the day in bed!
Here are a few things I find that help me beat this lethargic time of year. Planning my garden Flowers and herbs are my thing. I gave up on the vegetable garden as I find excellent produce at the local grocery store. Now, it is said that a home vegie garden is best, because foods grown in your own location are better for you. If you enjoy vegetable gardening set out your plan for the spring. Design your flower beds too. :) It's nice to read the planting catalogs, it perks me up and makes me feel that maybe spring is not that far away. I love looking at the pictures of lovely flowers and shrubs and imagining how my garden might look. I don't order many things from the garden catalogues, but they are a great way to get ideas for your own garden. You will be prepared to order when you do go to your local garden shop. You'll tend to spend less too. (Watch those urges to splurge. :) Sorting and Arranging There is something very satisfying about getting your pictures or books and magazines in order. Perhaps you have a collection of treasures, some people collect stamps, dolls, whatever - taking time to go through your collection of pictures or other treasures can be relaxing and enjoyable. If your pictures reside in a box where nothing is sorted or in order maybe it's time to splurge on a nice photo album or two. Then spend some time just sorting through and arranging them in a logical order. Take your time and enjoy the memories this project will evoke. At the end you will have your fav photos all at your finger tips to look through anytime you want a trip down memory lane. Colouring Ok, now don't laugh and skip over this one. You will not believe how relaxing and stress-freeing this activity can be. I am not a 'craft' person but someone once gave me a liquid embroidery kit for a gift. It sat around for a long time, I couldn't imagine myself ever doing such a thing, what a waste of time. (I thought.)
