The ongoing story of Fasoli Gino

I was reunited with the Fasoli Gino famiglia and learned that in the last year they have started a new cellar for vinification - over eight meters down where all the barriques are kept and wine can mature. In these cellars, the temperature is always constant at about 18 centigrade to 20 centigrade - they expanded the cellar because the previous one was too small to encompass all the production - it is now used to keep the bottles of wine.

Production has increased because farmers in the regions around are now turning to organic methodology.. Thus there are more grapes for Fasoli Gino to make into their wonderful wines, and sales to the USA and UK have increased to such a degree to warrant this.

Farmers started organic vinification on their own after seeing the fine quality wines produced by Fasoli Gino. These farmers were doubtful about organic methodology when Fasoli Gino started many years ago but now seeing their success, more and more farmers are turning to organic methods.

Another motive to start the new cellars was because Fasoli Gino's cousin, a fourth generation, started to get involved in the study and work of organics. Thus the continuation of the family business is assured.

Wine made from organic grapes has uniform rules all over Europe. However all regulation certification has not yet been defined.

The Fasoli Gino Winery was established in 1925 by Amadio Fasoli in the Veneto. Now his grandchildren, Amadio-Franco and Natalino Fasoli operate the farm. The vineyards stretch from San Zeno di Colognaola ai Colli and include Casetta, Cassola, Creari, Pessetta, Perantonie, Orgno and Sande. Protected from the north by the Lessini Mountains, the location is a wide and sunny valley where the soil is comprised primarily of clay, stones and sand. The two brothers, their children and family proudly carry on time honored traditions of the family business.

Wines include Soave Superiore DOC, Chardonnay del Veneto, Recioto di Soave DOC, 'San Zeno', and Merlot 'Orgno'.
