Amongst the most prestigious properties of GIV is MACHIAVELLI whose ancient home at S.Andrea, Percussina in the hills near Florence has been perfectly restored. In this extraordinary museum it is possible to relive the atmosphere in which the writer-statesman worked. At the 'Albergaccio Inn' guests can enjoy typical Chianti cuisine along with the products of Antica Fattoria Machiavelli.
I was most disappointed to find out when I visited San Gimignano that Terrezza e Puthod is a commercial venture which was bought by an American some years ago and turned into a factory type of wine operation. Some of the Italian winemakers in the district are upset at this.
